All about Animals

From dogs to chickens to goats….to baby bunnies, Rex rabbits and turkeys, quacking ducks and a luxuriously soft chinchilla, we have a mix of all types of animals at our home in the Alaskan bush.

Willow- our golden retriever

Willow, our Golden Retriever

“What was the streak of red dashing across the lawn?” I asked my husband as I glanced from the window of the house.

It was early spring in 2016 and the Alaska Wilderness Mom was surveying our back field and trying to imagine having a cool lemonade on a soon to arrive sunny, warm day.

“Oh….just Willow the pup burning off some extra energy” was his reply.

Now 3 years of age, she’s certainly not a lazy golden retriever (but we’re still hopeful!), but she has been one of the most incredible animals I’ve ever had. Keep tabs on my upcoming posts about her inspirational life and you too will be enamored with this red streak of wonder.

The Goat Days

Morocco, formerly, our Nigerian dwarf goat

Although we no longer have our goats, there are many funny stories to share and not so funny stories to share! I’ll keep you posted sometime soon with our hilarious goat dramas of days gone by!

The Chicken Coop

Our feathered friends provide us with rich, deliciously wonderful, protein packed eggs throughout the year. More to come on the breeds that do best and our favorite varieties that weather -50 below in interior Alaska.

Rex Rabbits of bush Alaska

Rex rabbits, bush mutt rabbits and much more on the bunnies of the farm….coming soon.
